WHAT ARE NEUROTRANSMITTERS?

NEUROTRANSMITTERS are the brain chemicals that communicate information throughout our brain and body.  They relay signals between nerve cells, called “neurons.”  The brain uses neurotransmitters to tell your heart to beat, your lungs to breathe, and your stomach to digest.  They can also affect mood, sleep, concentration, weight, and can cause adverse symptoms when they are out of balance. Neurotransmitter levels can be depleted many ways.  As a matter of fact, it is estimated that 86% of Americans have suboptimal neurotransmitter levels.  Stress, poor diet, neurotoxins, genetic predisposition, drug (prescription and recreational), alcohol and caffeine usage can cause these levels to be out of optimal range.

BRAIN DISEASE -  DEPRESSION - Fibromyalgia - Chronic Fatigue - Anxiety- ADHD/ADD - Parkinson’s

Our Brain Balancing Program or “Neurotransmitter Therapy” is a medically developed alternative to prescription medication. By introducing amino acids into the body as the precursors to Serotonin and Dopamine, your body can begin produceing the proper levels of Neurotransmitters needed for a healthy brain and body.

How is this accomplished you ask? Monoamine Transporter Optimization

Monoamine Transporter Optimization testing and analysis is the ONLY way to assess your current Serotoinin and Dopamine levels. Then supplementing with the appropriate amino acids you can bring back into proper concentration your levels of Serotonin and Dopamine. This eliminates the cause of the health problem!

Drugs interfere with normal system function. This approach restores normal function with nutrients and laboratory testing. The approach is based on the research of Marty Hinz, MD.

The use of new testing and treatment protocol developed by Dr. Marty Hinz and NeuroSupport Research group in conjunction with the University of Minnesota Duluth Medical School. The called process is called Monoamine Transporter Optimization and well, it’s complicated. The long and short of the testing is that Dr. Hinz and his colleges’ have developed a process of testing the urine to determine the available amounts of neurotransmitters in the brain. Then by administering the appropriate levels of amino acids (the precursors needed to make the neurotransmitters) the brain chemistry returns to optimal level, therefore, allowing for a healthy brain and body.

The following illustrates a limited list of diseases where neurotransmitter levels that may be inadequate and causing disease symptoms. The only way to increase the total number of neurotransmitter molecules in the system is by giving nutrients (amino acid precursors) which the brain and system synthesizes into new neurotransmitters.

5-HT = Serotonin / DA = Dopamine / NE = Norepinephrine / EPI = Epinephrine

The improper functioning of the OCT2 monoamine transporters is responsible for the complex of symptoms which are categorized as diseases above. Administration of drugs can further interfere with normal OCT2 transporter function. OCT2 transporter analysis is used to guide the administration of nutrients needed to compensate for the synaptic and post-synaptic electrical dysfunction that is causing these symptoms. Drugs treat symptoms, this approach treats the cause. The approach is based on the research of Marty Hinz, MD
